Bloom is finally here! After two years of planning, working with farms, mills and dyers, we’re launching our very first yarn this fall.

We wanted to create a yarn that was as thoughtfully made as the projects you knit with it. Well-tested bases, stunning colors, and ethical + sustainable sourcing. 

This idea led us to Bloom: a 100% wool, 2-ply aran yarn that is produced entirely in the USA. We made this yarn for garments you’ll want to wear for years.

Creating VCL Yarn

VCL Yarn began with a simple idea over two years ago: to create a yarn as thoughtfully made as the projects I was knitting with it. Well-tested bases, stunning colors, and ethical + sustainable sourcing. 

FAQ

  • The first 25% of orders will ship on September 3rd. The remaining orders will ship by October 15th. This yarn is hand-dyed in small batches and shipped to us as each batch is completed. We'll fulfill orders in the order they came in as batches arrive.

  • Bloom is a small-batch, locally made yarn. Sourcing, spinning, and dyeing all take time, so we can't just snap our fingers and make more. Our next batch likely won't be ready until early 2027. If you love a color, grab it now!

  • Yes! Bloom is just the beginning. We've been quietly building out a whole collection of yarns over the last two years, and there's so much more coming.

  • Yes! We've worked hard to ensure all our fibers are ethically sourced from producers and go through sustainable spinning and dyeing processes.

    All of our yarns hold at least one of the following certifications:

    • RWS (Responsible Wool Standard)
    • RAS (Responsible Alpaca Standard)
    • Climate Beneficial™
    • OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
    • GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

    Each yarn's label and listing will specify which certifications apply.
