SIZING
This sweater is written to have 1-3”/2.5-7.6 cm of positive ease, meaning it will be 1-3”/2.5-7.6 cm larger than the child's widest upper body circumference.
The sizes 6m (12m) 2T (3T) 4T are designed to fit an upper body chest circumference of 17 (18) 21 (22) 23"/43 (45.5) 53 (56) 58 cm.
The finished product knit in correct gauge measures:
- Chest circumference: 18.4 (20.8) 23.2 (24.8) 26.4"/46.7 (52.8) 58.9 (63) 67.1 cm.
- Length from underarm to hem: 6 (8) 9 (10) 10"/15.2 (20.3) 22.9 (25.4) 25.4 cm.
- Sleeve length from underarm: 6 (7.5) 8.5 (9.5) 10.5"/15.2 (19) 21.6 (24.1) 26.7 cm.
GAUGE
10 sts x 16 rows = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) on Size US 13 (9 mm) needles, or size needed to achieve gauge, using Lang Cloud Tweed (100g/284yds/259m).
CONSTRUCTION
This sweater is worked top down, beginning at the neckline. The upper body is then worked in one piece with raglan shaping at the shoulders, creating diagonal lines that run from the underarms to the neckline. From there, the body and sleeves are worked separately to finish.
